Garden Update and a Marinade

Weeded and watered. I also had to pull up my spinach plants. I did not do well with them.
Very little harvest and then they bolted. I plan to replant some this weekend.
My Black Krim tomato. It is so big! These are the only 2 fruit on the plant.
I'm pretty sure they are taking most of its energy!
My corn is doing great! No visible ears yet. I can't wait for fresh sweet corn this fall!!
My pumpkin plant is doing great! I have been trimming it back a bit so it doesn't take over the garden.
I also harvested a few potatoes for a special addition to our 4th of July dinner.  I marinated some chuck steaks in this All Seasons Marinade that I found on TasteofHome.com. I didn't want 2 cups so I cut the recipe in half and made the following changes.

Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 fresh squeezed lemon
  • 2 shakes of Worcestershire sauce (I'm not a huge fan, so a little goes a long way with me.)
  • 1 tablespoons ground mustard
  • 1 tsp dried Thyme
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons fresh ground pepper
  • 2 pinches of Red Hawaiian salt
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

Combine all ingredients in a zip-lock bag, add steak, close bag and place in refrigerator until ready.

****Taste review: Awesome! Definitely a hit in our house. First thing I heard "This steak is amazing!". Give it a try and enjoy! So simple. I let it steaks marinade for 3 hours before cooking.
