Paddy Coyne's ~ Tacoma, Wa

Paddy Coyne's is a wonderful locals type Irish Pub in the historic area of downtown Tacoma. As you walk in you are greeted by lively Irish music and a massive dark wood bar with stain glass panels and head carvings that give you a seafaring feel. The dark wood paneling circling the inside of the pub, along with a river stone fireplace gives it a very warm inviting atmosphere.

The menu has a great list of sandwiches and Irish specialties. I opted for the fish and chips last night and was not unhappy. The beer batter breading was light and crisp, the shoestring fries were tasty, as was the homemade coleslaw. Their low carb patty melt was also very well done with a ground chuck patty topped with sauteed onions and cheese and a wedge salad along side. Their homemade blue cheese dressing was on the sweet side and did not leave me wanting more. They have a small wine selection and a full bar and a good selection of beers on tap.

Overall, the hometown feel of Patty Coyne's will pull me back for another try. Just being there makes you feel Irish!! Glad I am!
