Asado ~ Tacoma, Wa

An Argentinian Steak house that will leave your taste buds wanting more. Situated at the heart of the Tacoma restaurant, club seen, Asado has something for everyone. Don't expect to save money eating here though, the average tab for 2 people usually runs around $90 for drinks an appetizer and dinner. There is a dining room and bar. The bar is open seating and you almost never walk-in and see an open seat. You need to go early or expect to stand and snag the first spot that opens up. You need to put your name on the list for the dining area. Anywhere you sit here it is going to be loud. Don't let this run you out, you are in for a treat.

The wine list is fairly limited but just ask if they have any featured wines not on the list. Their Argentinian Malbec, Kiken, is by far my favorite. $8 a glass. They also have full bar.

The bar menu has slightly less expensive choices from burgers, to seafood, to steak. The scallops on a bacon leak saute are amazing for $11.50. The calamari appetizer is a must for $9. Always perfectly cooked with a peppery breading, served with jalapeno and chimichurri aiolies. The favorite off of the main menu would probably be the mixed grill; flank steak, a chorizo sausage, 2 large prawns all served over a bed of mashed potatoes for $26.00.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the service is always impeccable.

Asado receives a rating of 3.
