Do you listen to podcasts? I have recently discovered an awesome podcast for Foodies who are interested in learning about the origins of the food we love to eat. A Taste of the Past is my favorite so far. Some of the best I have listened to yet are the podcasts on Fried Chicken, Chocolate Chip Cookies and Chef Boyardee. Give it a shot!

Some Of My Favorite Things
Here are few of my kitchen favorites at the moment.

This is one of my favorite new discoveries at the moment. One thing I freely admit to hating is making a salad. Not sure why, but I have always hated them. I love to eat them, but the process of chopping and putting it all together is not fun for me. This handy little pack makes the process slightly more enjoyable. I love that there are 4 different kinds of lettuce so the salad isn't boring and they are small enough to be manageable and less liking to go bad before they get used. |

The Magic Bullet!! I bought this on an after Thanksgiving sale at Sears for $35.00. I was pretty excited. I have only ever seen them as cheap as $50. My parents have had one for years and I have always wanted one. My favorite thing to do with it at the moment is to use it to chop up my dried herbs that I have cut from my own plants. I used it to chop dried basil and oregano leaves last night! It is so much easier than using my mortar and pestle. I also used it to grind up the whole Oreos I used in my Turkish Delight recipe. Quick clean up is also a plus and it is all dishwasher safe! |
